Qin Shi Huang
Qin Shi Huang was the first emperor of China. He was born in
259BC and died in 210BC. Qin Shi Huang’s reign was from 221BC to 210BC. Qin Shi
Huang was well known because he created the Qin dynasty and mostly because he
was the first emperor of China. Qin Shi Huang’s father was the king of the Qin
state because at the time when he was born China was separated into 7 states.
When Qin Shi Huang’s father died he became the king at thirteen years of age
but did not have full control of the in state. When Qin became 22 he gained
full control of the Qin state. Qin was very ambitious and had the idea of
taking over all the other states and uniting China together as one. He started
his idea by first defeating the Han state. He then took over the Zhao and Wei
states. The next state he took over was the powerful Chu state which left the
Yan and Qi states which he easily took over. Qin Shi Huang was now the ruler of
all of China and declared him an emperor. Qin Shi Huang organized his empire by
making a government, he created an economy, constructed buildings and made an
official way of writing.
Qin Shi Huang was a significant person for China because if he did not exist there would have been no dynasties and China would not be where it is now.
