The first weapon is the gong. The Gong is basically a Chinese bow that is believed to be used 2800 years ago. The gong was used to shoot the enemy with an arrow and archers were the major soldiers until the 19th century.
The Qiang is a spear that had a long staff with a bronze, steel or iron attached tip. The Qiang was used for long distance battle where soldiers would throw the weapon at the enemy. The Qiang was still used even when the Qin dynasty started to use firearms which are much more powerful than the Qiang.
The next weapon is the Ge. The Ge includes a hook with a handle to hold the weapon. The hook of the Ge is made of bronze and the handle is made of bamboo. This weapon was the standard weapon for soldiers during the Shang dynasty. The angle of the blade is on a perfect 100 degree angle because if the angle of the blade was too small it would be hard to slash and if it was too big it would be hard to slash.The Ge is used mostly for hooking and stabbing. This weapon is very effective because you can either stab your opponent in the heart or hook their head and slash it.
A very special component of weapons was gunpowder. Gunpowder was created in Ancient China in 300 AD. A Chinese scientist called Ge Hong created this by combining sulphur, charcoal and saltpetre together. Gunpowder was first used in China 400 hundred years after it was created in 700 AD in the Tang dynasty when they showcased firework displays.
A revolutionary weapon was the Nu. The Nu is a semi-automatic weapon that was used 2400 years ago. This weapon was developed by the Chinese and was a crossbow that revolutionized the siege warfare. This weapon was the first semi-automatic weapon created. The Nu could fire 10 bolts in about 15 seconds before it would need to be reloaded.
The Dao was one of the most used weapon in Ancient China. The word Dao meant any kind of long weapons.Most Dao's were long and had mounted blades on their shafts. The Dao was sometimes like a long sword. This weapon is considered an amazing weapon even today.
